Disco znana także pod nazwą muzyka dyskotekowa – gatunek muzyki popularnej, głównie, choć nie wyłącznie, przeznaczony do tańca w tzw. dyskotekach. Szczególnie popularny w drugiej połowie lat siedemdziesiątych XX wieku. Początkowo albumy disco produkowane były wyłącznie dla użytku DJów. Były to zazwyczaj 12 calowe winylowe krążki, najczęściej zawierające ograniczoną liczbę instrumentalnych utworów.
